ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

The urbanization and industrialization of Western Canada during the 20th century has placed a severe strain on the balance of our natural ecosystem. Chatwin Engineering Ltd. has assembled a team of environmental scientists, engineers and planners who are skilled at applying Best Management Practices and economical solutions to mitigate impacts to the environment for various engineering projects.

Chatwin’s staff biologists have provided environmental services for land developers, local governments and First Nations on Vancouver Island and the coastal mainland for over 10 years. Project experience includes fish and fish habitat assessments, biophysical inventories, environmental impact assessments, marine habitat inventories, environmental permitting and approvals, protection plans and environmental monitoring.

Our professional biologists have an excellent working knowledge of watercourse protection requirements, have worked extensively with provincial and federal fisheries staff and municipalities and have a thorough understanding of the new Riparian Areas Regulation and Assessment requirements.
