Chatwin Engineering has been retained by the Uchucklesaht First Nations to manage the design and construction of their water system improvements for their Community at Elhateese at Uchucklesaht Inlet, near the mouth of the Alberni Inlet. The existing water system is under capacity and has had water quality testing which has recorded high iron readings and the pump house and reservoir are requiring refurbishments and upgrades.

The design work has included the development of a new access road that will improve maintenance access to the reservoir. The new pump station will include a chlorination system and treatment facility to combat the heavy metal concerns within the water system.
