Chatwin Engineering was retained by the Huu-ay-aht First Nation to complete the design and construction of the new water supply system to service their Community at Anacla near Bamfield, Vancouver Island.

Their project was undertaken through feasibility study, preliminary design, detailed design and construction and also included upgrading of the existing distribution system to meet the needs of a growing Community with new subdivision plans underway.

The water system upgrades included a new well and pump station, a new water supply line and a new water storage reservoir built at a higher elevation further from Reserve that increased the working pressure and fire protection demands of the Community.

Water treatment requirements were analyzed and a new disinfection system was designed and installed, incorporating chlorination.
